About Practitioner
Samantha Cail grew
up in the Boston area and earned her
undergraduate degree in English/Writing from the University of Massachusetts. She moved to Seattle, WA, where she had diverse employment
including work as a paralegal/law clerk, an office administrator in a physical
therapy practice and even a dispatcher for a tow truck company. It was in the physical
therapy setting that she was first introduced to massage as a treatment to
facilitate healing and restoration of the body to optimal health and strength.
Family and the east coast called
Samantha home. Coinciding with her return was the serious decline of a parent's health, bringing on significant personal fears, uncertainty and stress. A
friend suggested therapeutic massage at a local massage school clinic. During a
February snowstorm Samantha and her friend drove to Cambridge, MA,
to keep their massage appointments. Because of inclement weather, they were the
only two people to arrive for their treatments. Something was at work here! The
massage shifted things for Samantha. Not only was that session beneficial for
mind and body, but it brought awareness to her sense that she had never felt
particularly connected or fulfilled by past employment, and was restless for a
vocation that had deeper meaning. This session impressed upon her the
transformative and healing power of touch. Inspired and energized by this discovery, she enrolled in a massage
therapy program and began a new path.

Bodywork Philosophy
Samantha holds strongly that the health, vitality and strength
felt in the body are directly related to a person’s quality of life. There is
no division between mind, body and spirit. All are interconnected and dependent
upon one another. Society and culture ignore this fundamental connection.
Instead we have been socialized to experience our physical bodies as separate
from our mind and spirit. Quality of health is affected by thoughts, attitudes,
behaviors, past experiences, nutritional habits and exercise level, or the physical, emotional, mental
and spiritual aspects of a
person. Neglect of any one of these can manifest in the body and cause injury,
chronic conditions, structural breakdown, muscle pain, depressions and/or
illness. The power of this connection is that it functions as a resource a
person can utilize to play a vital role in their own healing process. Samantha
has experienced the power of this awareness on a personal level, and now
dedicates her efforts to sharing and facilitating such experiences with others
through her work. If you are interested in learning more about this healing work, contact Samantha Cail at 781-962-8580.
